Sir Stirling Moss and this Mercedes-Benz 300 SLR remain unbeaten. The new video show a story of the legendary racing driver Sir Stirling Moss and this Mercedes-Benz 300 SLR. It is part of collaboration between Petrolicious and Mercedes Benz to bring back the good memories where Sir Stirling Moss and his co-driver, Denis Jenkinson, won the 1955 Mille Miglia.

They were just in early 20’s when they able to finish the 10 hours of racing across the 992 miles in Italy. Moss and Jenkinson abale to beat the 2 times Grand Prix World Championship, Juan Manuel Fangio, who is not far from them.

“Once the flag fell, I went flat out,” said Moss. “Obviously, when I’d see a car I caught up with, I really felt great about it, but I had no idea of the enormity of what it meant to myself because it’s really—it’s quite the thing to have on your CV.”

The Mercedes-Benz 300 SLR was world’s most advanced racing car of its time. SLR is stand for Sport Leicht-Rennen (“Sport Light-Racing” in English). It has direct fuel injection system powering the straight 8 engine. It produced roughly about 310 horsepower with top speed around 180 mph (290kmh).
