Mercedes-Benz Classic have successfully restored the 540 K streamliner after thousands of hour hard work. The 540 K Streamliner was manufactured in 1936 right before the war started.
It is suppose to be a luxury car with speed in mind. The 540 K streamliner was designed and developed inside a wind tunnel. It is powered by 8 cylinders 5.4 Liter inline supercharged engine.
The restoration takes thousands of hours with method and technical skills required them to hand build most of its components as in 1930’s. The car should complete a long distance race from Berlin to Rome back in early years before the war struck. You can watch full restoration project in the following video from Mercedes-Benz itself.
