McLaren 650s GT3 – The 12c GT3 Successor

Building a successor for a great thing is challenging especially when they have build one of the best super car on one of the best platform. But people at McLaren does not lived in a dream. Although the 12c GT3 have won three championship titles and 51 races, they still try to find spaces for improvement to develop the 12c GT3 successor and they starts by listening to people who have passion in it.

The 650s model is a new model introduce by McLaren. It is based on MP4-12c with 25% new parts and a lot of others improvement have been done. If you look at the first glance, it might reminds you to the latest McLaren P1 but this is a totally different car.

Engineers at McLaren starts to design the car with a better aerodynamics features. The new fronts face looks more aggressive and it suite the 650s GT3 perfectly.The carbon fibre used to construct the car also received a special treatment from the engineers. They have used a new technology called the Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) which gave a better light weight carbon fibre panels.

Moving to the inside, the new roll cage given a better legs room and it has been approved by the FIA. McLaren have also include a new racing seats with an F1 inspired steering wheel makes the interior perfect for racing.

The airflow and air cooling for the 65s GT3 have been improved with a bigger air intake. Although the 3.8 V8 twin turbo engine is remain the same as 12c GT3, the engineers have re-tuned the ECU in order to provide a better efficiency. To deliver the power, McLaren had coupled their new model with a new 7-speeds sequential gearbox which help to improve its gearshift and overall performance.

The 650s GT3 will contest in 2015 championship onward and we wish them a good luck

    Hi there just wanted to give you a brief heads up and let you know a few
    of the images aren’t loading properly. I’m not sure why but I think its a linking issue.

    I’ve tried it in two different internet browsers and both show the same results.
